News Release

March 3, 2004

Roseland, NJ, March 3 – Curtiss-Wright Corporation has announced the acquisition of the assets of a coatings business located in Evesham, United Kingdom from Morgan Advanced Ceramics, Ltd.

The E/M Coating Services facility in Evesham manufactures and applies a broad range of solid film lubricant (SFL) coatings that provide lubrication, corrosion resistance and enhanced operating performance for metal components. The coatings, offered under the trade names of Everlube®, Ever-Slik&reg, Lube-Lok&reg, Lubri-Bond&reg, Flurene&reg and Perma-Slik&reg, are applied to steel, titanium and aluminum substrates. The 32,000-square-foot facility applies coatings for the automotive, oil exploration, aerospace and specialty industrial markets. The facility employs 53 people and is ISO9001 certified.

“The acquisition of this high technology coatings facility is an integral step in our strategic plan to grow and diversify our metal treatment services business worldwide,” said Martin R. Benante, Chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright. “This state-of-the-art facility in Evesham will work closely with our five other facilities in the U.K. to provide our combined customer base with a full range of metal surface treatment technologies for protection of critical metal components against fatigue, fretting, corrosion and wear.”

The Evesham facility will operate as part of the E/M Coating Services business unit of Metal Improvement Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Curtiss-Wright.

The acquisition expands the network of six North American based E/M Coating Services application facilities acquired by Curtiss-Wright in 2003. E/M Coating Services is the largest applicator of SFL coatings in North America. SFL coatings are effective in a broad range of applications whenever conventional wet lubricants provide insufficient protection due to high temperatures, extreme loads, corrosion, wear, chemical corrosion and other adverse operating conditions.

Metal Improvement Company provides precision metal finishing services that include shot and laser peening, peen forming, heat treating and coating services. The company operates over 50 facilities in North America and Europe. For more information about the Metal Improvement Company visit www.metalimprovement.com
